About the role:
Reporting to the Site Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Planner has a central role in coordinating maintenance activity across the site. While you will not have direct reports, you will significantly influence the daily activities, priorities and behaviours of Engineering Technicians, Asset Care teams, Shift Technicians and Utilities.
You will act as the link between Engineering, Operations and external service providers, ensuring work is planned safely, efficiently and in line with business priorities.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce and track weekly maintenance plans, balancing forward projections with on-site requests
Provide clear work streams for Maintenance Technicians, Asset Care Teams, Shift Technicians and Utilities, including Condition Monitoring and Lubrication activities
Ensure all critical work orders are identified and delivered with 100% completion
Analyse work order history and backlog performance, making recommendations to improve effectiveness and plant reliability
Develop and optimise planned maintenance activities to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
Maintain accurate task and instruction data within SAP, including review and documentation of changes to planned maintenance tasks
Populate SAP with new equipment records, spare part codes and associated maintenance tasks
Produce analytical reports focused on reducing downtime, improving schedule compliance and controlling backlog
Support Engineering teams with system administration, documentation and SAP utilisation
Conduct regular SAP reviews to ensure work orders are correctly completed and closed
Provide training and coaching to Engineering and Operational teams to maximise effective use of SAP
Attend daily and weekly Engineering meetings, ensuring actions are captured and followed through
Maintain accountability for compliance with legal and mandatory maintenance schedules
Support cost control by ensuring appropriate use of spares, resources and external contractors
Work closely with external engineering service providers to support planned activities
About you:
Good manufacturing understanding
Strong analytical, organisational and planning skills
Confidence to lead planning meetings and influence others at all levels
Strong IT capability, with experience using SAP
Excellent communication, problem-solving and coaching skills
