Job Specification
Forwessun supports the electronics industry worldwide and is currently looking to increase its manufacturing support roles.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Thermal Simulation Software Developer to design and develop a bespoke thermal analysis tool that plays a critical role in evaluating thermal performance and conformity across complex systems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop a custom thermal simulation software tool tailored to internal engineering
requirements.
• Define and model environmental parameters such as ambient temperature, altitude, and humidity, in collaboration with thermodynamic engineers.
• Simulate heat generation and distribution within test fixtures, as well as the
performance of proposed cooling systems.
• Evaluate the combined system for thermal compliance, and iterate simulations to
achieve conformity.
• Integrate real-world thermal measurement data with simulation outputs to enhance
accuracy and reliability.
• Continuously refine the simulation model based on testing feedback and new thermal constraints.
• Deliver simulation results in a clear, graphical format that is accessible and
meaningful for senior management and decision-makers.
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
• Solid background in thermal systems analysis, heat transfer, and thermodynamics.
• Proven experience in developing or working with thermal and fluid dynamic simulation tools.
• Proficiency with one or more of the following tools: Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), COMSOL Multiphysics, Ansys Icepak, Cadence Design Tool, Siemens Simcenter Simulation Software
• Strong programming or scripting ability (e.g., Python, MATLAB, or similar).
• Experience with data visualization and producing executive-level graphical reports.
• Ability to iterate simulations based on real-time measurement comparisons and
testing results.
• Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering and non-
technical teams.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to build a powerful simulation tool from scratch, influence thermal design decisions, and ensure robust system performance through precise and iterative modeling.
What’s on offer:
• 20 days holiday (exclusive of Bank holidays) rising by 1 day extra per year of service (up to 10
extra)
• Pension contribution
• On site Car parking available
