Role Overview
Reporting directly to the Business Director, the Marine Insulation Sales Specialist is responsible for driving revenue growth across Solaris Marine's full insulation product range. You will manage and develop a portfolio of client relationships while actively identifying and converting new business opportunities within the marine and offshore sectors across the UK and internationally.
This is a field-based, target-driven role that demands a self-starter with a robust existing network in the marine industry and deep technical knowledge of marine insulation products, systems, and standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop and execute a structured sales strategy to meet and exceed annual revenue targets
• Manage, retain, and grow a portfolio of existing key accounts across the marine and offshore sectors
• Identify, prospect, and convert new business opportunities within shipyards, vessel operators, naval authorities, and offshore contractors
• Provide expert technical guidance to clients on insulation specifications, compliance requirements, and product selection
• Prepare detailed quotations, tenders, and proposals tailored to client requirements
• Collaborate closely with the operations and project delivery teams to ensure client satisfaction and seamless order fulfilment
• Attend industry trade shows, exhibitions, and networking events to enhance Solaris Marine's market presence
• Maintain accurate sales pipeline records and client data within the CRM system
• Provide regular sales forecasting and pipeline reports to senior management
• Stay current with marine industry regulations, classification society requirements (e.g. Lloyd's Register, DNV), and emerging market trends
Required Experience & QualificationsEssential
• Minimum 5 years of proven B2B sales experience within the marine, offshore, or industrial insulation sector
• Demonstrable track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in a technical sales environment
• Strong technical understanding of thermal, acoustic, and passive fire protection insulation systems for marine applications
• Established network of contacts within UK and European shipyards, marine contractors, or offshore operators
• Experience preparing and managing technical tenders and bid submissions
• Full UK driving licence
Desirable
• Knowledge of marine classification society standards and SOLAS fire protection requirements
• Experience working with naval, MOD, or defence marine contractors
• Relevant qualification in engineering, technical sales, or marine studies
• Experience using CRM platforms such as Salesforce or HubSpot

Solaris Marine offers a highly competitive base salary commensurate with experience. In addition, you will participate in our performance-based bonus scheme:
• Quarterly performance bonus: up to 5% of base salary upon achieving quarterly sales targets
• Annual overachievement bonus: additional bonus of up to 10% of base salary for exceeding annual targets by 110% or more
• New business bonus: dedicated incentive payment for each significant new account wins above agreed contract value thresholds
• Bonus payments reviewed annually in line with company performance and individual contribution
