Essential
1. First level registered nurse
2. Evidence of relevant training in upper and lower GI endoscopy.
3. Teaching/ assessment/ mentorship qualification
4. Evidence of continued personal professional development plan
Desirable
5. Project management training/experience
6. Post registration management and / or leadership course or evidence to demonstrate equivalent experience
7. JAG accreditation as independent endoscopist for gastroscopy and colonoscopy
Specialist Knowledge Requirements
Essential
8. Demonstrate up to date knowledge and expertise in upper and lower GI endoscopy
9. Knowledge and experience of the principles of the administration of intravenous sedatives and their reversal agents
10. Non-medical Independent or supplementary prescriber
11. Competent in peripheral cannulation
12. Specialist knowledge surrounding clinical examination and assessment
13. Knowledge of the key professional issues and NMC guidelines relating to professional practice
14. Evidence of being able to work across organisational boundaries

15. JAG accredited train the trainer qualification

16. Skilled in performing therapeutic endoscopy (eg EMR/ polypectomy)
