Responsibilities
* Oversee the month-end process
* Develop management accounts
* Provide financial analysis and support to departments
* Manage cash flow and budgets
* Prepare weekly project reports with variance analysis
* Analyze financial performance and assist in planning
* Manage sales ledger, invoices, and expenses
* Oversee payroll
* Complete regulatory returns (VAT, HMRC, CIS)
* Prepare statutory accounts at year-end
The role requires the ability to communicate financial data to non-financial managers, commercial awareness, and strong interpersonal skills. The MD seeks a candidate with strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to efficiency improvements.
Applicants should ideally be studying towards an accounting qualification or have QBE with relevant experience. Construction sector experience is a plus but not essential. Knowledge of Sage 50, Excel, and business systems is desirable. This role offers the opportunity to make a significant impact within the organization.
