Bright Leaf Recruitment is hiring a dedicated Small Animal Veterinary Surgeon for a permanent full‑time position in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.

Practice Overview
* Independent, family‑run small animal practice with 14 enthusiastic vets, 4 certificate holders.
* Main Centre: five operating theatres and a dedicated Hydrotherapy & Physiotherapy Centre.
* Seven consulting‑only branch practices – two consulting rooms, nurse assistance, full air conditioning.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform 20–30 different surgical procedures each day.
* Two hours of operating time daily to rapidly develop clinical confidence.
* Collaborate with a highly skilled nursing team of 14 Registered Veterinary Nurses and 5 Auxiliary Nurses.
* Support a strongly encouraging, mentorship‑focused environment.
Qualifications
* At least 12 months UK small animal experience.
* Good level of basic surgical skills.
* Positive, team‑focused approach to clinical work.
Benefits
* Salary £60,000–£80,000 per annum (depending on experience).
* Six weeks holiday plus all but one Bank Holiday.

Work‑Life Balance
* Two‑hour lunch break every day.
* Alternate four‑ and five‑day working weeks.
* Average 7.5‑hour working day, 8:00 am–5:00 pm.
