The role
As an Operational Systems Specialist, you will be the focal point for and support the Tops Road system to ensure it meet current and future requirements of the business. You will drive improvements and change to enable more effective running of the road business.
You will co-ordinate between all stakeholders, both internal and external, to ensure a smooth delivery and problem reconciliation across the road eco system. You will act as an enabler of optimal business performance and constant improvement with the intermodal operational systems.
The position will also incorporate a supporting role for other intermodal operational systems used by the business such as IPro, Gate Automation, M&R, Decisions.com and VBS.
Tops is a UK wide system within Freightliner and it will be necessary to undertake site visits incorporating overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide system support for the Tops Road system and other road software applications
* Managing and resolving system issues and incidents.
* Involvement in shaping the Intermodal Operational Systems Roadmap.
* Working with operations teams and technical management teams, produce business design and requirements documentation for future developments including process flows.
* Involvement in the translation of future business requirements documentation into solution documents with vendors
* Producing use case scenarios and test plans for future developments and completing testing so that any software changes do not impact BAU.
* Reporting on daily availability of technology systems
* Responsible for ensuring data integrity for Power BI reporting and analytics.
* Manage the roll out of all Tops system releases
* To triage and escalate all support issues relating to Tops Road Systems
* Provide support for emergency issues
* Responsible for initiating incident investigations either internal or external and producing RCA as applicable
* Responsible for co-ordinating compliance responsibilities
* Assist in developing solutions for operational issues using the existing technology estate.
* Improving user experience and process via training or documentation support cycle
* To be proactive in suggesting and providing innovative solutions to business issues and requirements
* To support the implementation of any peripheral programs that impact Intermodal Operational Systems
Key Requirements
* Operational knowledge of the Tops Road system and Freightliner Road operations.
* Advantageous to have some knowledge of the FLEC system.
