Technology Risk & Controls Analyst (Contract)
Location: Edinburgh (2 days onsite per week)
Contract Length: 3 months
Rate: Set Rate £500 per day (Inside IR35)
Start Date: Immediate (preferred)
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Technology Risk & Controls Analyst to join a leading banking organisation on a 3-month contract. This role will focus on assessing and strengthening technology controls within the bank's internal controls framework, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practice. Candidates should be available to start immediately and comfortable working in a hybrid model with 2 days onsite in Edinburgh each week.
Key Responsibilities
* Apply knowledge of technology environments, business areas, products, processes, and platforms to effectively assess risk.
* Collaborate with stakeholders across technology and business units to enhance control effectiveness.
* Document control assessments, procedures, and findings in a clear and structured manner.
* Identify and investigate weaknesses within technology controls, supporting continuous improvement and risk mitigation.
* Prioritise control issues based on their potential impact to business operations and technology services.
* Produce reports outlining key risk assessment findings, including control gaps and recommendations.
* Conduct reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of technology and IT controls in line with policies, regulations, and best practice.
* Ensure adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and apply appropriate methodologies for assessing technology controls.
Key Requirements
* Strong understanding of technology risk and control frameworks within financial services.
* Experience assessing IT/technology controls in a banking or regulated environment.
* Familiarity with frameworks such as ITGC, COBIT, or similar.
* Proven ability to assess, document, and improve internal technology controls.
* Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
* Immediate availability highly desirable.
