About the Role
Our Electricians are responsible for maintaining buildings, infrastructure and equipment in compliance with statutory standards, approved codes of practice and Building Engineering Systems Association SFG 20 Schedules of Maintenance. The role involves reactive, planned preventative and scheduled maintenance services supporting the venue. The holder will take ownership of the operation, maintenance and service of all building services, infrastructure and equipment to maximise reliability and availability, maintain environmental conditions and standards of service. Duties include a high degree of event cover, often involving late nights or weekends, managed on a fair and equitable rota system.
Key Responsibilities
* Work on low-voltage electrical distribution systems and engineering equipment in arena and theatre venues.
* Undertake planned maintenance of HVAC control systems.
* Undertake planned maintenance and testing of life systems – fire alarms, emergency lighting, standby generators and UPS.
* Test, inspect and fault-find electrical equipment.
* Assist specialist contractors and sub-contractors in installations and refurbishments to building fabric, plant, building systems and services.
* Support the use of a CAFM system to track and coordinate all maintenance activities, both planned and reactive.
* Provide knowledge and supervision, monitoring the performance of external contractors’ works and ensuring they are carried out safely.
* Promote a positive health and safety culture and ensure compliance with ASM Global Health and Safety policies and procedures.
* Develop and review risk assessments and method statements for work performed.
* Complete incident forms for accidents or near misses that require reporting.
* Remain vigilant of unforeseen hazards and risks to oneself and others.
We are looking for someone with
* NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation or equivalent.
* At least 3 years post-qualification experience in electrical maintenance in a commercial or industrial sector.
* Knowledge of BS7671, 18th Edition Wiring Regulations.
* Knowledge of BS2391 Electrical Inspection and Testing (or equivalent BS2394/BS2395).
* Full UK driving licence.
