Circa £55,000 depending on experience
Working Arrangements
Dynamic (hybrid) working: 4 days per week on‑site due to workload classification
Security Clearance
British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity
As an Algorithm Developer here at MBDA, you will join a dynamic team integral to our advanced weapon system development. You will be part of a specialist group that uses product knowledge and system analysis to develop algorithms that keep us ahead of the competition within sophisticated weapon systems, using groundbreaking algorithm technology such as machine‑learning and artificial intelligence.
Responsibilities
* Design, develop and test mathematical algorithms using Matlab/Simulink and Python
* Interpret technical specifications and collaborate with other departments to understand how the algorithms will be used, and especially with the software team to define how they will be implemented
* Influence the way we develop algorithms within the team and more widely within MBDA
* Demonstrate a dedication to quality through progressive thinking and rigour
Requirements
* Mathematical analysis / modelling experience
* Numerical simulation experience
* Experience in data science, especially machine learning
* Experience with geospatial data and/or geographic information systems
* Software development experience
* A numerate graduate or post‑graduate qualification
* Ability to work confidently with mathematics
* A commitment to product quality and procedures we follow to ensure it
* A desire to make an impression within the MBDA engineering community
