An opportunity as arisen for an experienced marketingprofessional to join our team at Halton Haven Hospice.

The Hospice is looking to recruit a Marketing andCommunications Manager to lead on developing our marketing strategy and toactively engage in running marketing campaigns both internally and externallyat the hospice. The successful candidate will be able to build on our existingrelationships with local media and our community, whilst also having theability to shape our marketing plans for the future.

The post-holder will be responsible for managing ourwebsite and social media content, writing and co-ordinating press releases andcase studies, supporting the promotion of events and appeals and working withcolleagues to develop a new marketing and communications strategy.

We are lookingfor someone who has experience in working cross-departmentally to deliverhigh-quality campaigns, and who has the ability to handle emotive topics in asensitive yet compelling manner. The successful post holder must have a positive attitude, be highly motivated,enthusiastic, and friendly. We are looking for someone withproven experience in marketing or a related field, previous charity experiencewould be a benefit but not essential.

Main duties of the job

The Marketing andCommunications Manager will work to maximise support and awareness of thehospice to ensure its long-term sustainability and maintain the positive imageof the hospice in the local community.

The postholderwill be responsible for the operational management, development and delivery ofmarketing and communications to support the hospices income generation and otheractivities. They will be responsible for the delivery of a compelling programmeof multi-channel communications with the aim of increasing awareness andsupport for the charity and improving existing communications both internallyand externally.

Job responsibilities

Principle tasks and Responsibilities

Working closely with the Director of Income Generation to develop a clear marketing and communications plan to support the core areas of fundraising and volunteering.

Implement, monitor and analyse marketing and communications plans and budgets, providing insights and reports to the executive team and Board of Trustees as required.

Identify appropriate online and offline channels to maximise promotion of hospice events and campaigns.

Work closely with clinical colleagues to promote effective storytelling and sharing of patient stories, ensuring all necessary consents are in place.

Proactively develop a long-term plan for internal and external communications across the hospice and wider community.

Lead on content creation, coordination and production of high-quality hospice marketing materials, including comprehensive brand guidelines and event materials.

Develop key messages and write engaging copy based upon these messages to ensure a consistent tone across all communications.

Work with the Fundraising Managers to write and share engaging press releases and other articles.

Oversee and lead on the hospice social media programme, maximising opportunities to increase our profile and engage with our supporters online.

Lead on creating and updating content on our website, ensuring all information is accurate and on-brand, and optimise the user experience for our patients, families and supporters.

Manage the ongoing and changing priorities, communicating and sharing progress in a clear and timely manner to foster a collaborative working environment.

The post holder will be expected to manage their own workload, work under their own initiative and provide feedback, producing reports both verbally and in writing as required.

To maintain knowledge of current marketing practices and procedures and of relevant legislation affecting marketing activities within the charitable/hospice sector.

Regularly attend team and other meetings as appropriate, contributing positively to discussions and debates and participating in shared decision making.

To act at all times in accordance with the policies and procedures of Halton Haven Hospice in a positive way that promotes Halton Haven Hospices reputation. In the event of possible conflict of interest full disclosure must be made to the Director of Income Generation.

Act at all times as an ambassador for the organisation and maintain positive and effective communication both internally and externally in representing the service offered by the hospice.

To undertake any other duties which may reasonably fall within the role of the post which may include attending events in the evening and at weekends.


Person Specification


Qualifications

* Educated to GCSE level or equivalent


Experience

* Proven work experience in marketing or a related field.
* Experience in developing marketing plans, budgets and strategy.
* Experience of overseeing an organisations brand.
* Proven experience in writing content for a range of mediums and audiences including press releases, printed materials and digital content.
* Experience in developing and implementing cross channel marketing campaigns.
* Proven experience of delivering end-to-end marketing campaigns from project brief through to evaluation.
* Experience of increasing income via effective marketing.
* Experience of using Canva or other similar design tools to create marketing materials for events/campaigns etc.
* Understanding of fundraising income streams and their audiences.


Skills And Knowledge

* Strong working knowledge of digital marketing techniques.
* Ability to present complex information clearly to a variety of audiences.
* Ability to effectively prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload.
* Well organised with an eye for detail.
* Understanding of GDPR and the relevant compliance requirements.
* Experience of handling highly emotive topics with sensitivity and respect.
* Understanding of marketing segmentation in a charity context.
* Understanding of analytics tools and ability to use them to guide future activity.


Personal Qualities

* Highly motivated and able to work under own initiative.
* Confident to work with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
