The role of Project Worker will include:
1. Providing support to encourage young people to maximise their own potential and independence
2. Provide high-quality person-centred support to enable and empower customers to develop the skills necessary for independent living within legislative, regulatory requirements and best practice
3. Establish professional relationships with all customers, using appropriate and clear communication to promote independence through developing daily living skills and social engagement, ensuring that customers maintain personal choice, privacy, and dignity
4. Assist customers in understanding and planning their support package, focussing on positive outcomes to maximise customers potential and enable them to exercise choice and control
5. Provide advocacy to support customers and their families when required
6. Liaise with relevant external agencies to ensure the maximum support is delivered to enable customers to access and maintain a level of integration within the wider community
7. Manage the implementation of safeguarding principles and responsibilities to ensure the safety of customers and to avoid potential risk to stakeholders and the business
8. Promote safe practices and undertake risk assessments within legislative frameworks and business protocols, escalating issues as appropriate
9. Contribute, as appropriate, to special programmes and projects in support of the Group's values and objectives
Skills and experiences:
10. Experience of working with vulnerable children and young adults
11. Proven knowledge of key needs and services for relevant customer group
12. Some knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements
13. Good understanding of written and spoken English
14. Good communication skills
15. Good interpersonal and customer care skills
16. Ability to demonstrate a positive and accepting approach to customers whatever their needs
17. Ability to keep accurate records and clearly communicate relevant information
18. Ability to make accurate simple calculations
19. Email and internet communications
