Job summary
The General Enquiries team work throughout the week to answer our busy patient telephone calls for appointments and general enquires queries. The role involves administrative duties that are required to be completed in-between calls. This is a fast paced role in a busy working environment that requires excellent communication skills, empathy and resilience.
The hours for this role are Monday - Wednesday - 8am - 3pm. 19.5 Hours per week.
The interviews for the position will take place on Wednesday 6th August 2025.
Main duties of the job
1. To provide a professional service to patients over the telephone, and inform them of general information about the practice. To be calm, friendly and polite at all times.
2. To have a general knowledge of the processes and procedures within the practice in order to advise patients relating to any and all enquiries.
3. To be able to inform patients of test results.
4. To be aware of all policies relating to diversity and to represent the practice in a positive and professional manner.
5. To make, change and alter appointments, working within the boundaries of the appointments protocols.
6. To signpost patients to other services both internally and externally.
7. To be familiar with the Practice Boundary and to register patients appropriately and change patient addresses.
8. To prepare repeat prescriptions.
9. To be familiar with the principles of confidentiality, Caldicott, Governance and data protection and always be mindful of these during face to face and telephone encounters with patients/doctors and other staff.
10. Other admin duties .

* Experience of working with a team, and promoting team spirit.
Desirable
* Working in a NHS GP Practice or busy office environment.
