Main responsibilities
 * Provide subspecialty clinical advice to primary care and haematology specialists within a regional multidisciplinary team.
 * Deliver inpatient and outpatient care, including bispecific antibody and cellular therapy management.
 * Attend wards and provide an on-call service.
 * Lead and contribute to clinical trial delivery, leadership and development.
 * Maintain training and teaching programmes in partnership with King’s College London and King’s Health Partners.
 * Ensure compliance with transplant and cellular therapy standards and regulatory bodies (HTA/JACIE).
 * Supervise junior medical staff collaboratively with consultants.
 * Contribute to audit programmes, morbidity and mortality, and learning from deaths.
 * Exercise professional leadership for all staff working in the specialty.
 * Champion innovative patient‑care initiatives within the service.
Key duties and responsibilities
 * Provide a high‑quality care service, including all aspects of treatment and relevant management duties.
 * Cover the service 24 hours, 7 days a week on a rota basis, including covering colleagues’ leave and sickness.
 * Clinical supervision of junior medical/dental practitioners.
 * Provide teaching, examination and accreditation duties; contribute to CPD and clinical governance initiatives.
 * Commit to outpatient clinic responsibilities in peripheral hospitals as agreed with the Care Group’s management.
 * Contribute to research interests in line with the Trust’s R&D framework.
 * Participate in audit programmes, morbidity and mortality, and learning from deaths.
 * Implement and monitor the Care Group’s business plan, including service planning with internal and external agencies.
 * Operate within the contracted level of service and operating plan for service(s).
 Exercise professional leadership for all specialty staff.
 * Ensure staff productivity and satisfaction; support appraisal and professional development.
 * Adhere to all Trust infection prevention and control policies.
 * Ensure consistent, evidence‑based patient safety practices.
 * Contribute to consultant‑led 7‑day services as appropriate.

Person specification
Qualifications
 * Full MRCP
 * Other higher degree or diploma (e.g., MD)
Registration
 * Full registration with GMC
 * GMC Specialist Register name on date of appointment
 * Within 6 months of CCT or fully registered on the Specialist Register
Training and Experience
 * Wide experience in all aspects of plasma cell disorders; completion of GMC Certificate of Completion of Training or portfolio pathway application.
Administration and Management and Leadership
 * Experience organising plasma cell disorder services in a busy teaching hospital.
 * Computer literacy and familiarity with NHS IT systems.
 * Understanding of NHS structure and recent initiatives.
 * Leadership capability within multidisciplinary teams.
 * Management training and/or qualification.
Audit and Quality Improvement
 * Principles of medical audit.
 * Publication of relevant reviews or case reports.
 * Research experience in plasma cell disorders.
Teaching
 * Experience providing undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and examination preparation.
 * Teaching skills course or qualification.
