Duty Qualified Solicitor

A Tier 2 ranked Legal 500 firm, well known for its Crime litigation, is looking for a duty qualified Solicitor to join their new office in the Sutton Area. With a history of handling complex and interesting matters including serious crime (legal aid, private, and financial), financial litigation, and civil fraud this is an opportunity for a junior or senior legal professional to join a friendly team and gain greater independence and responsibility, with flexible working and a competitive salary.
Responsibilities:
* Conducting criminal law cases from inception to conclusion with a good level of independence and responsibility.
* Attend police station matters based on the duty rota.
* Assisting partners and senior lawyers with their caseload of files dealing effectively with a variety of matters.
* Input and assist with the development of the department and larger firm.
* Dealing directly with clients and maintaining the highest standard of care, taking instructions and ensuring full compliance.
* Liaising with all parties including defendants, government agencies, courts or other relevant parties.
* Skills and Experience:
* UK qualified Solicitor of 1+ PQE with a current Duty Solicitor accreditation (all levels considered, with adjustments to job specification based on PQE).
* Strong experience with criminal law matters, to ideally include crown court experience, financial crime matters, and complex criminal matters.
* Experience with publicly funded matters.
* Strong interpersonal skills interacting with clients and colleagues.
* A passionate personality with an enthusiasm for developing their team and greater firm.
