Role: Level 3 Teaching Assistant – Specialist SEN/SEMH Provision

Salary: £90–95 per day
A specialist provision in Wolverhampton, rated Good by Ofsted, is seeking a dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team. This setting supports children with a range of complex needs, including social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) and special educational needs (SEND).
The school provides a safe, structured, and nurturing environment where pupils can develop socially, emotionally, and academically. They are looking for a Teaching Assistant who is calm under pressure, resilient, and committed to helping every child reach their potential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEMH and complex SEND needs.
2. Support de-escalation, behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies.
3. Work closely with class teachers, SENCO and therapists to deliver individualised learning and care plans.
4. Help create a safe, structured, and positive learning environment.
5. Use creativity to adapt resources and activities, making learning accessible and engaging.
6. Record and report pupil progress, highlighting achievements as well as areas needing further support.
What We’re Looking For:
7. Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
8. Experience supporting children with SEMH, autism, ADHD, or other additional needs is essential.
9. Training in de-escalation, Team Teach or Thrive (or willingness to undertake training).
10. Empathy, resilience, and patience, with the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
11. Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted relationships with pupils and staff.
12. A genuine passion for working with children who need additional support to flourish.
