About the School
Connex Education is working with a SEND school based in Sheffield who are recruiting for a Psychology Graduate to work as a SEND Teaching Assistant on a full-time basis. This could be a temp to perm if you are the right candidate. The school caters for ADHD, SEMH, PMLD, MLD and ASC pupils for all ages.
About the Role
* Provide guidance and support to individuals in a mentoring relationship.
* Help pupils set and achieve personal and academic goals.
* Share knowledge and expertise in a specific field or area of interest.
* Assist pupils in developing new skills and overcoming challenges.
* Act as a role model and provide positive reinforcement to pupils.
* Foster a supportive and trusting relationship with a range of pupils.
You will Need:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Active listening skills to understand individual pupils’ needs and concerns.
* Empathy and the ability to relate to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
* Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with pupils.
* Patience and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
