MWH Treatment is looking to strengthen their Engineering team with a Mechanical Design Engineer for our Severn Trent framework. Based in the Derby Office, you will ensure that cost-effective, technically compliant, and buildable solutions are designed, approved, and handed over to the construction teams in line with programme expectations.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Produce outline and detailed electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation designs that are cost-effective and meet client specifications, enabling effective purchase, installation, and commissioning.
2. Produce and check all design deliverables including specifications, schedules, drawings, and calculations.
3. Ensure designs comply with CDM Regulations.
4. Utilize standard designs and practices wherever possible.
5. Deliver design outputs within the agreed timescale and budget.
6. Coordinate design outputs across all technical disciplines.
7. Prepare monthly project status reports.
8. Establish working relationships with construction staff and supply chain to promote buildability and efficiency.
9. Provide estimates and feedback for proposals.
10. Work within procedures and processes to develop and review departmental procedures.
11. Coordinate designs with all disciplines internally and externally to ensure integrated project delivery.
12. Maintain files and records throughout project duration.
13. Assure customer satisfaction by ensuring design quality and adherence to requirements.
14. Work within a culture that recognizes customer satisfaction as key to achieving objectives.
15. Ensure designs consider health and safety requirements.
16. Assist in supervising and developing staff.
17. Ensure a safe working environment for all staff.
18. Minimize waste from departmental activities.
19. Consider environmental issues in design processes.
