About the Role
Technical Engineering Industrial Placement at EDF. The 12‑month placement offers a starting salary of £24,500 and hands‑on experience at Sizewell B Power Station and Gloucester Business Park. You will work within the Joint Technical Centre, contributing to the lifecycle of technical projects that keep the plant operating safely and efficiently.
The Opportunity
EDF is committed to extending the life of Sizewell B until 2055, providing low‑carbon electricity for the UK. As a junior engineer you will be mentored by experienced professionals and engage with real‑world projects that impact performance, safety and efficiency.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Support the life‑extension of Sizewell B, focusing on one of the key programmes: Structural Integrity, Control & Instrumentation, Equipment Qualification or Ageing & Obsolescence.
* Plan, deliver and justify technical work, ensuring safety, risk management and compliance requirements are met.
* Engage with stakeholders across the organisation to deliver effective solutions and keep projects on track.
* Document and communicate progress through reports and technical documentation.
Who You Are
* Hold A2A, B2B, H4H, M7M, N6N, O4O, P8P, Q5Q, R3R, S6S, S9S, T4T, U3U, V7V, W2W, X0X or Y9Y A‑level qualifications.
* Currently pursuing, or have achieved, a 2:2 undergraduate or postgraduate degree in Engineering, Materials Science or a related discipline.
* Possess strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with a keen interest in engineering projects that support net‑zero goals.
* Am able to work independently and as part of a cross‑functional team.
