THE ROLE & TEAM
This is an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to join Brabners Banking team in Liverpool, supporting high‑quality banking and finance work for a broad range of lender and borrower clients. The role is highly hands‑on and offers early exposure to varied and complex matters, making it ideal for someone ambitious, inquisitive and keen to build a long‑term legal career.
You’ll work closely with a Partner and an experienced team specialising in banking and finance transactions, supporting work across corporate and real estate finance, acquisition and structured finance, bridging finance and general corporate banking matters, including re-financings and reorganisations. The team also has particular expertise advising litigation funders and registered housing providers and works with lenders, investors and debt funds across the UK.
On a day‑to‑day basis, you will support the team with transactional processes, document preparation and matter management, ensuring work progresses efficiently and in line with agreed legal processes and timelines. The role offers exposure to different stages of transactions and the opportunity to develop strong technical, organisational and commercial skills within a supportive team environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Support the Partners and wider team on a range of banking and finance matters
* Review information provided by borrowers, solicitors and third parties
* Assist with the preparation of loan and security documentation
* Produce, monitor and update conditions precedent and completion checklists
* Support Companies House registrations and related corporate filings
* Assist with the preparation of board minutes and corporate documentation
* Manage documents, filing and matter administration
* Draft correspondence and support basic research tasks
* Accurately update internal systems and provide legal administrative support
* Manage multiple tasks across different matters, prioritising deadlines effectively
* Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a high standard of client service
ABOUT YOU
* A law degree or legal education would be beneficial
* Previous paralegal or legal support experience is advantageous
* Highly organised with strong attention to detail
* Methodical and process‑driven, with an understanding of the importance of accuracy
* Inquisitive and confident asking questions where needed
* Able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively
* Reliable, hardworking and keen to take ownership of tasks
* A team player who enjoys working closely with colleagues in an office‑based environment
* Motivated to develop legal and commercial knowledge
* Ambitious and keen to build a long‑term career in law
