Engineering Manager – Systems Engineering (Architecture)

What You’ll Be Doing
* Management and integration of resources in the engineering delivery team; leadership of engineering resources and delivery of packages of work.
* Delivery of systems engineering work streams within the Systems Engineering Transformation Programme.
* Managing off-load resource, including agreeing direction, approving deliverables and ensuring contract obligations are met and renewing/contracts are defined.
* Leading and managing engineering staff.
* Performing appropriate engineering planning, management and review activities.
* Ensuring engineering capability and capability enhancements/developments are delivered consistently with changes in customer and market requirements, focusing on the development and deployment of Model Based Systems Engineering techniques within the business.
Your Skills And Experiences
* Proven experience in leadership and management of teams, preferably in complex system development.
* Experience in the application and development of Systems Engineering tools and techniques, including management of complex tasks through dispersed teams, System Engineering Principles and ways of working, Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Techniques, Architectural Frameworks, Systems Engineering Processes, Project controls and risk management.
* Experience of managing off-load contracts/resource.
* Science Technology Engineering Mathematics (STEM) degree qualified.

The Systems Engineering Transformation (SET) Team
Our team is at the forefront of transforming systems engineering within the business and key programmes. We are committed to modernising our approach by implementing industry best practices and innovative techniques. Focused on evolving engineering processes, we aim to revolutionise the way we work, ensuring alignment with leading methodologies to drive efficiency and excellence across our programmes.
You will be leading the transformation pillar of the SET project, responsible for implementing and integrating the SET product and supporting deliverables into the SSNA programme. This role delivers critical business change required by the SSNA programme, contributing to the realisation of targets set by the Strategic Defence Review 2025 and in support of the AUKUS agreement.
We offer relocation support packages across all Submarines roles, subject to meeting eligibility criteria.
