Operations Procurement Specialist – Overview
Reporting to the Head of Operational Procurement, the Operations Procurement Specialist plays a key role in managing procurement activities to support the company’s long‑term O&M strategy. The focus is on sourcing and negotiating critical parts and materials for the operational assets portfolio.
Core Responsibilities
* Source, negotiate, and place parts agreements and related critical frameworks, conducting strategic tender activity to support operational assets.
* Support procurement activities across other procurement departments (growth and operational procurement).
* Manage vendor relations from tendering and selection to contract negotiations, awarding and subsequent management.
* Foster relationships with key internal stakeholders and provide guidance to other departments on assets procurement activities.
* Review and improve prevailing procurement processes, policies, practices and systems.
* Assist with relevant Operations procurement reporting and data analysis.
Qualifications & Skills
* Track record in procurement, in assets, strategic or O&M Procurement with a commercial mindset and excellent negotiation skills.
* Strong interpersonal skills, building solid working relationships and collaborating across functions.
* Experience of P2P process and ERP systems.
* Ability and track record of reporting, including tracking procurement function KPIs and development.
* Experience establishing new supply chain options for bespoke parts and risk items.
* Experience working with logistics suppliers, third‑party transportation companies and customs agents, with a solid understanding of incoterms and global freight principles.
* Contract/Legal understanding – solid grasp of key contractual terms and applying appropriate contract strategy/risk mitigation during negotiations.
* Fluent in English and French, both written and spoken.
