We have a great opportunity for a Quality Engineer to join a team in Bloxwich.
Job Summary
• Responsible for the quality control of products ensuring they meet BSC and
customers’ expectations, maintaining the high reputation the business has for
reliability and excellence.
• Help set up and maintain quality records.
• Identify areas of concern and leading continuous improvement teams to resolve.
• Document customer concerns, analyse trends and review with senior team to resolve.
• Produce dimensional and ISIR reports where necessary in preparation for customer
Submissions, using CMM and other inspection equipment as required
• Carry out capability, SPC and MSA studies in line with PPAP requirements
Primary Tasks/Activities – include but not limited to.
• Carry out first and last off inspection of Zinc and Aluminium die castings in a
machine shop environment.
• Final inspection of castings where required before shipment.
• Goods inward audit inspection of subcontract processes and finishes.
• Compare products to customer drawings and customer specifications for dimensional
accuracy.
• Produce, monitor and maintain CAR register for designated areas and see through to
completion.
• Identify and use attribute gauges where appropriate.
• Engage with production promoting the business quality ethos while creating sound
working relationships and understanding.
Miscellaneous Tasks/Activities
• Attend and support engineering meetings as required and understand customer
specific requirements.
Skills/Knowledge Required
• Previous experience in a quality inspection role, [expected] ideally within a casting or
injection moulding environment [advantage]
• Ideally have experience working in an engineering environment [advantage]
• A sound understanding of quality standards and inspection techniques [expected]
• Knowledge of 8D reporting and problem-solving techniques [advantage]
• Demonstratable analytical skills and attention to detail [expected]
• Possess good communication skills, be reliable and able to work independently as
well as part of a team. [expected]
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. [expected
