Mid-Trent Multi Academy Trust is an established multi academy trust based across the villages of Weston, Hixon and Colwich near Stafford. The trust is looking for additional directors (trustees) to join our current Board of Directors (Trustees) and for governors to join the Local Academy Committee at Colwich CE Primary School. Directors (Trustees) Directors (Trustees) sit on the trust board and help to shape the trust’s vision. Directors set the strategic direction of the trust and provides both challenge and support to our schools. Directors have effective oversight of the operations and performance of trust schools, monitoring standards, finance, HR, safeguarding and health and safety. The relationship between the trust and all stakeholders is an important aspect of the role. Following the retirement of long-standing board members, we now have vacancies for directors. It is a voluntary role but extremely rewarding. As a director you: Agree that it is an unpaid, voluntary position, with reasonable pre-agreed travel expenses reimbursed, Agree to prepare for and attend 4 board meetings per year, S how a willingness to attend other committees and meetings if necessary. Governors Governors support the directors in the governance of our trust and sit on Local Academy Committees. Governors play a key role working closely with a trust school to help ensure the pupils, staff and community develop to be the best they can be. Governors help in the improvement of the school, provide support and challenge, and contribute to their success. The governors form the Local Academy Committee, and their main responsibilities are: Monitor the school’s performance against plans, agreed budgets and approved KPI’s, To monitor and support the school improvement plan, To engage with parents, the local community and other stakeholders to ensure the pupils are supported to learn and their needs are met.
