Pharmacy Patient Care Assistant (Part-Time)
Holly House vets are recruiting for a Pharmacy Patient Care Assistant to work at their Moor Allerton branch in Leeds. This is a new exciting role which will involve working as part of the clinical support team to provide high standards of patient care and ensure practice standards are maintained to a high quality.
This role offers the opportunity to gain experience in patient care, excellent customer service and pharmaceutical knowledge. You will be working in a busy dispensary as part of a large, growing and passionate team. This is a part time permanent role working 28 hours a week. There is no weekend work or OOH and shifts patterns can be flexible for the right candidate.
Duties will involve:
* Preparing medications to be dispensed for patients as per the veterinary surgeon in line with the guidelines set out by the RCVS
* Delivering exceptional customer care as well as providing support to the vets and nurses in the consult room.
* Stock control and rotation including handling deliveries, storing medications correctly and managing the stock take systems on site
* Placing orders with suppliers for medications and monitoring stock control and wastage
* Supporting the clinical teams with high standards of cleanliness across the clinic and infection control measures
* Some laboratory work including ordering of supplies and organising reports
Our Facilities and Environment
As a general practice with mid-tier referral, certificate holder led departments in surgery, dentistry and exotics we have a varied caseload, and cases are worked up to a high standard. Our facilities include purpose-built consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep/theatre suite. We utilise multiparameter monitoring for anaesthesia and a ventilator to ensure the highest standard of care. Handling both first opinion and referral cases, our focus remains on delivering exemplary care to every species.
Location and Team
Conveniently located just off the ring road in north Leeds, near Roundhay Park, our practice boasts excellent transport links to the city centre. Our team comprises 10 vets, 10 RVNs (including our dedicated night nurse team), 6 SVNs, 4 VCAs, and 10 receptionists working to provide 24 hour wrap around care to our patients at our hospital, general practice clinics and exotics only practice. Having been open now for 30 years we have developed a range of annual team events and a full schedule of practice meetings as well. We run regular Schwartz Rounds to allow our team to reflect on the emotional and social impact of care.
