As a Trainee Materials Technician, you’ll be working as part of a small team to ensure the effective delivery of the major construction projects within the United Kingdom, creating better connections for the local community.
Working safely within the within the Laboratory and in the construction site
Working alongside other team members, testing the properties of construction materials including Concrete, Grout and Aggregates.
Improving the performance of existing products, already in place.
Developing an understanding, knowledge and practical methods used to examine materials, including non-destructive testing (NDT).
Working to established test methods to ensure quality and to support the Lab in maintaining its accreditation to operate.
Travelling to and from sites, collecting materials to be tested.
Often the most successful apprentices are those who have drive to find out more about the sector, can be up front about what they do and don’t already know, and are impatient to learn the job role!
We’re looking for a creative and committed individual who is proactive in identifying problems and defects.
You’ll be flexible in your ability to work across the various locations required to meet the needs of business, as well being comfortable working on your feet.
