This is an exciting opportunity for two Development Officers to support communities, organisations, and partners in delivering our Physical Activity Framework and realizing our vision of Leicestershire, Leicester & Rutland: a place where physical activity is part of daily life, leading to healthier and happier lives.
About the Roles
Postholders will work on projects such as:
1. Developing universal and targeted approaches to increase physical activity among low-participating groups and settings.
2. Raising awareness of the health and wellbeing benefits of physical activity to partners, settings, and communities.
3. Supporting sector professionals and groups to embed physical activity into their settings, programmes, and policies, and to promote its benefits.
4. Supporting the development and delivery of local and national physical activity campaigns to reduce inactivity and increase participation.
5. Encouraging the integration of regular, informal physical activity into daily routines.
6. Addressing equality, diversity, and inclusion challenges in physical activity provision.
7. Making a positive impact on physical activity levels in our communities.
Initially, the posts will focus on:
Post 1: Physical Activity and Health
This role will focus on embedding physical activity advice within the health system and addressing inequalities to improve health and wellbeing.
Post 2: Pre and Post Natal Physical Activity
This role will develop and deliver programmes related to pre and postnatal physical activity and maternal mental health, aiming to engage and empower women in these stages.

Requirements
* BTEC Higher/NVQ 4 or degree in a relevant area, or substantial experience with ongoing professional development.
* Experience in:
o Physical activity, sport, health, community development, including managing large projects.
o Working with underrepresented groups to tackle inequalities and improve health.
o Partnering with a range of organisations and providing support and advice.
o Supporting and mentoring staff and volunteers.
* Knowledge of:
o Physical activity, health, and sport policies at various levels.
* Ability to monitor, evaluate, and demonstrate success of initiatives.
* Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion, evidenced through experience.
