Location: Brookthorpe Hall School, Gloucestershire. Salary: Up to £53,200 pro rata (dependent on experience). Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, hours to overlap with core school hours (part-time hours may be considered). Contract: Permanent (term time only, or flexibility around full-time discussed based on personal circumstances).

The role
We are looking for a Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house clinical team at Brookthorpe Hall School. You will work with the education team to deliver bespoke SLT assessments and interventions to pupils who may have experienced developmental trauma, be neurodivergent, or have SEMH needs. You will hold a SLT caseload, with support from a designated clinical supervisor and site lead, and contribute to staff training and consultation as required. Location details: Brookthorpe Hall School – Gloucestershire. The school forms part of our Options Autism brand and supports children and young people aged 7-16.
Essential criteria
* Undergraduate or Postgraduate degree in Speech and Language Therapy
* HCPC registered; 1-2 years’ experience as a fully registered member of the RCSLT, in a similar setting. Some experience with individuals presenting with complex and diverse communication profiles
* Some knowledge of neurodiversity and trauma-informed practice
* Experience of multidisciplinary working in various settings
* Experience in communicating with/working with families, relatives and carers
* A developing interest in different areas of SLT practice
* Good relationship-building, analytical and judgemental skills
* Good communication skills (oral and written)
* Good time management and organisational skills
* Competent in core SLT practice with understanding of RCSLT Communication Standards
* Knowledge of SLT assessment tools, intervention approaches, and how to formulate support plans
* Knowledge of relevant legislation affecting clinical practice and professional management
* Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
* Willingness to attend training and pursue further qualifications relevant to the client group
Desirable
* Understanding of sensory and motor differences impacting communication
* Understanding of arousal and its relation to communication
* Full driving licence and access to a car (highly desirable)
