The Health & Wellbeing Team are seeking a Health and Wellbeing Coach to work across South Lakeland for Westmorland and Furness Council. The role involves supporting and coaching individuals with complex needs to improve their health and wellbeing, adopting behavior and lifestyle changes to reduce health inequalities.
You will need to adopt a coaching approach and possess the personal skills to build trusting relationships with community members. You will work in a non-directive style, helping individuals identify their goals, motivate change, and overcome barriers. Collaboration with NHS teams, community partners, and internal colleagues is essential, as is supporting individuals to access community resources.
Who we are looking for…
The successful candidate will be able to coach individuals on factors influencing health and wellbeing, such as lifestyle, relationships, and home life. They should work collaboratively to reduce health inequalities, understand root causes, and promote sustainable change. The role also involves helping individuals build resilience and independence, understanding and challenging behaviors, and fostering community engagement. Candidates must hold a Level 6 Advanced Diploma in Health Coaching or an equivalent qualification and have extensive experience coaching vulnerable individuals with complex needs.
