Our client, based in the West Midlands, is currently recruiting for an Adult Social Care Lawyer on a 3-month locum basis, with likely extension.
The position is due to start immediately on a full-time basis. The role offers remote working, but with the requirement to attend Court hearings in the West Midlands as required.
The hourly rate is in the region of £50 p/hour UMB.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
* Advising the Council on a range of Adult Social Care matters and mental health issues
* Handling a varied caseload of adult social care matters, including care management and assessments, mental capacity, mental health, asylum, immigration and adult safeguarding
* Undertaking advocacy in the Courts and representing the council in the Court of Protection
* Providing advice under the Mental Health Act 1983, including displacement of nearest relative, deprivation of liberty, place of safety, s117 aftercare
Experience required:
* Experience within Local Government
* Experience working on Adult Social Care law
