The IT Department is responsible for delivering Information Technology within the Dudley and Sandwell Group NHS Foundation Trust.
The Applications Subject Matter Expert (SME) will be an experienced applications/systems support specialist providing expert advice, solution design and managing Applications Support Specialists.
The SME will provide project leadership and 2nd line applications support coordination.
The post holder will be a key member of the IT Systems team providing ongoing support for clinical and non-clinical applications, as well as business analysis, design, development and implementation for internal requests and 3rd party vendor solutions.

Education and qualifications
* Degree in IT or business related subject and/or equivalent experience
* ITIL Foundation
* PRINCE 2 Foundation
Skills and experience
* Extensive experience in a senior role within a professional IT environment planning, installing, maintaining, and supporting business applications
* Application incident and problem management skills
* Excellent systems and business analysis skills
* Understanding of equality and diversity issues and how this affects patients, visitors and staff
* Knowledge of business change process analysis and design techniques
* Knowledge of business process documentation techniques
* Understanding of Information Governance and Confidentiality
* Experience of supporting NHS IT applications
* Self-motivated and capable of demonstrating initiative to solve problems and make decisions
* Ability to work autonomously or as part of a larger team
* Supports and motivates others, encouraging them to achieve their goals, in alignment with organisational goals
* Demonstrates confidence in their position
