Product Safety Engineer
Location: Glascoed
Contract: 12 months
Rate: £40/hour PAYE (£45.83/hour incl. holiday) or £53.90/hour Umbrella
Clearance: SC Required
Role Overview
Our client is seeking a Product Safety Engineer to support the safe delivery of complex engineering programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring products are developed, reviewed, and maintained in line with safety and environmental requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Produce documentation to support Safety and Environmental Cases (SEC).
* Create and maintain product hazard logs.
* Contribute to the delivery of conforming products.
* Conduct safety reviews of designs against safety and environmental management frameworks.
* Provide advice and guidance on product safety during bids and projects.
* Apply hazard identification, analysis, and risk assessment techniques (e.g., FMEA, FTA).
Skills & Experience
* Knowledge of engineering lifecycle management.
* Experience deriving and setting safety criteria and requirements.
* Familiarity with relevant defence or safety standards (e.g., Def Stan 00-056, DSA 03.OME).
* Proven ability to produce high-quality technical safety reports and arguments (e.g., ALARP).
