The role:
As part of a new national network of centres, NHS GGC is due to open its first GP WiC in June 2026. The WiC will fall under the remit of the GP Out of Hours Service (OOH). The centre will complement local daytime General Practice and wider primary and community care services, and will have clear clinical pathways in place for opening.
This role does not meet the eligibility criteria for a or a Heath and Care Worker visa. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is unable to provide candidates or employees with a Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS).
Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:
1. Fixed term or Secondment for 12 months
2. Full or part time hours available
3. Based within Cardonald Health Centre
Key responsibilities:
A 12 month secondment/fixed term opportunity has become available for the role in the security in GP Out of Hours (OOH) service. This post forms part of the WiC team and will operates 11.30am-20.30 pm per day Monday to Sunday and is responsible for providing a range of security services within Clinical / Non-Clinical Departments throughout all areas of the WiC both internally and externally ensuring compliance with NHSGGC Policies and standard operating procedures, including but not exhaustive of Health & Safety, Violence Reduction, Infection Prevention and Control. Investigate and conclude reported Security Incidents and other requirements as specified by the organisation.
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
4. Previous experience working as a security officer
5. Proven track record in managing conflict
6. Ability to de-escalate difficult situations
7. Ability to stay calm under pressure
