Wood is seeking an established Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor to support our growing workload within the Commercial area of our Wood Transmission & Distribution Ltd entity. As a leading provider of engineering and construction services to the UK transmission and distribution sector, we are at the forefront of net zero 2050 with a secured workstream for years to come.

The role can be site-based, hybrid, or remote with travel, depending on the candidate's preference. We are looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor eager to work with a dynamic team and take on new challenges.
This role is ideal for a commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor with civil, infrastructure, or construction background, comfortable working as the Principal Contractor, with a diverse project portfolio seeking a high-profile, multi-million-pound contract challenge. The candidate should be experienced in cost & change control, contract & subcontract administration, and project reporting, managing client and subcontractor relationships. Opportunities for future progression and involvement in additional Scotland-based transmission and distribution projects are available. Strong commercial judgment, flexibility, collaboration skills via MS Teams, and willingness to travel across Scotland are essential.

The Role
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will provide commercial support related to financial and contractual matters, including post-award contract administration, project planning, cost analysis, cashflow forecasts, subcontracting strategies, internal reviews, and project forecasting. You will handle projects from construction start-up, monitor execution, identify entitlement, and manage performance within budgets.

Requirements:
* Degree in Quantity Surveying, Law, or Business Studies, with professional qualification preferred
* Experience in a QS role, preferably in transmission and distribution overhead lines, but not essential
* Knowledge of NEC contracts
* Familiarity with corporate and project procedures
* Experience in contract administration and change management
