About the role
The Role
1. Provide targeted support to children and young people with Autism (ASC) and associated learning and communication needs
2. Support students aged 4–19 years old, primarily on a 1:1 or small-group basis
3. Assist with personal care, including toileting and feeding where required
4. Comfortable with moving and handling, including the use of hoists
5. Help manage challenging behaviours using positive and proactive de-escalation strategies
6. Follow individualised education and behaviour plans to support progress
7. Build strong, trusting relationships with students to support their emotional well-being
8. Encourage life skills, communication and independence

9. A specialist SEN setting supporting students with Autism, SLD, PMLD, and complex additional needs
10. Small class sizes and high staff-to-student ratios
11. Emphasis on personalised learning, emotional regulation, and preparation for adulthood
12. Calm, structured environment with a strong safeguarding and support ethos
13. Easily commutable from Cheltenham, Stroud, Cirencester, and wider Gloucester area
To be considered for this role, you will:
14. Have experience supporting students with Autism (ASC)
15. Be calm, resilient, and confident in managing behaviour support plans
16. Be comfortable providing personal care and supporting physical needs
17. Be a proactive team player who can follow instruction and take initiative
18. Have a caring, nurturing approach and a strong passion for working in SEND
19. Hold a valid Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one)
20. Ideally have access to transport or live within easy reach of GL1 5BA

Salary
£445-£470 per week
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
