Senior Clinical Fellows in Critical Care Medicine

These posts are based at St Mary's Hospital. The unit comprises a 32 bedded modern facility on the 9th floor. Every bed is fully equipped with standardized modular monitoring and with information technology (ICCA/ICIP) allowing access to pathology and radiology results and patient documentation.

St Mary's is a busy tertiary referral and teaching centre as well as a top performing UK major trauma centre (TARN data). Tertiary specialties include major trauma, major upper and lower GI surgery, vascular surgery in addition to general surgery and medicine.

The fellowship in intensive care is open to international medical graduates who have done part or whole of their specialty training. A minimum of 1 year of intensive care experience is required along with 6 months in either acute/general medicine, anaesthetics or emergency medicine. Complete airway management independence is a requirement to apply for the post.

The department offers GMC sponsorship for which IELTS academic or OET are fundamental requirements.

Fellows will also gain experience in various aspects of critical care such as Echocardiography, simulation, advanced airway management and experience in the ethical framework of managing critically ill patients.
