The Role
We are seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our Digital Solutions team, reporting to the Senior Solutions Architect. This role is critical in accelerating the adoption of scalable, secure, and innovative technologies across our global group of companies.
You'll design and prototype modern digital solutions using cloud services, AI, VR/AR, Edge AI, and other emerging technologies. You'll collaborate with teams across the Halma Group to deliver both strategic initiatives and individual company projects, champion best practices in software development, and build reusable assets that speed up delivery.

Key Responsibilities
* Partner with the Senior Solutions Architect to ensure solutions are scalable, secure, and deliver tangible business benefits.
* Collaborate with development teams across the Halma Group to roll out strategic initiatives, including in-house Generative AI solutions.
* Design and build Proofs of Concept and prototypes, using technologies such as cloud services, AI, VR/AR, and Edge AI.
* Provide hands-on support and guidance to technical teams, promoting best practices in code quality, CI/CD, testing, and agile delivery.
* Develop scalable, reusable technical assets (reference architectures, playbooks, solution templates) to drive efficiency and consistency.
* Work cross-functionally to turn innovative ideas into tangible prototypes that inform decision-making and adoption.
Required:
* 5+ years of cloud-native development experience (ideally Azure).
* 5+ years of software engineering, ideally with C# and/or Python.
* Strong experience with cloud services (e.g. Azure App Services, Functions, AI Services).
* Proficiency in REST APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
* Skilled in Git-based version control (GitHub/Azure DevOps) and CI/CD (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).
* Strong knowledge of software testing practices.
* Understanding of solution architecture principles.
* Experience working across teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
* Familiarity with agile delivery practices.
* Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Desirable:
* Experience with Generative AI (LLMs, RAG, LangChain, Semantic Kernel).
* Microsoft Power Platform experience.
* Front-end development (React, Angular, Vue.js).
* Exposure to edge computing or VR/AR technologies.

Location & Working Pattern
This is a full-time, permanent role based primarily in London (3 days per week:, with occasional travel to our headquarters in Amersham. Hybrid working is in place, balancing office, travel, and home working.
