Overview

CAMHS Community Mental Health Nurse - Eating Disorders

We are recruiting for a Band 6 RMN - Eating Disorder (CYP) to join the Lifespan Eating Disorder Service in North East London NHS Foundation Trust. The post is part of the HIVE team, an Intensive Community Treatment (ICT) pathway working with children and young people and their families/carers. There will be strong linkages with the existing Eating Disorder team, with management and the clinical lead coming from the existing service.


Responsibilities

* Clinical duties include performing and interpreting investigations (e.g., blood pressure and ECGs) to manage clinical risk.
* Develop and review individualised care plans for patients.
* Develop clinical practice and procedures to support adults with eating disorders in the community.
* Collaborate with colleagues to ensure specialist, professional, skilled clinical care is provided and tailored to individual needs.
* Contribute to MDT working and maintain effective communication with the team and external agencies where applicable.


Qualifications

* Essential: NVQ Level 2 or equivalent literacy/numeracy; RMN/RGN/RNLD/OT or Social Work registration; any post-registration qualification (e.g., Mentoring and Enabling Learning in Practice, ENB-998 or equivalent); evidence of CPD.
* Experience: working with adults with complex mental health needs; dual diagnosis; acute settings; experience in liaising with multi-disciplinary teams; ability to assess, plan and initiate care; ability to work under pressure and make timely clinical decisions; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Knowledge: understanding of the Care Act, contemporary evidence-based practice, and Mental Capacity Act; desirable knowledge of NICE, CQC, DoH guidance and Mental Health Act.
* Skills: IT literacy; strong interpersonal and risk assessment skills; ability to maintain confidentiality; effective collaboration with families and significant others; commitment to equal opportunities and clear clinical documentation.


About Us

NELFT places importance on proper induction for new starters, with a two-week induction including mandatory training and equipment allocation, held at the Trust head office in Rainham, Essex. Probationary periods apply (internal applicants may be exempt). The post attracts a London High Cost Area Supplement (HCAS) of 15% of basic salary (min £4,714; max £5,941 per annum pro rata).
