Join our team as a support working in Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead.
To provide high-quality, person-centred support to individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs in Epsom, Banstead & Reigate, enabling them to live as independently as possible. The role focuses on building skills, confidence, and resilience while promoting dignity, choice, and control over their own lives.
Part Time and Full Time postions available in Epsom and Ewell, Reigate and Banstead.
Key Responsibilities
23. Support individuals to develop independent living skills (e.g. cooking, budgeting, personal care, travel training)
24. Promote choice, control, and decision-making in all aspects of daily life
25. Provide emotional support and encouragement to maintain positive mental health and wellbeing
26. Support individuals to access the community, education, employment, and social opportunities
27. Assist with personal care where required, in a respectful and dignified manner
28. Support with medication in line with training and policies
29. Follow and implement person-centred support plans and risk assessments
30. Use positive behaviour support (PBS) approaches where needed
31. Build trusting, professional relationships while maintaining appropriate boundaries
32. Monitor and report changes in behaviour, mood, or wellbeing
33. Maintain accurate, timely, and clear records
34. Work collaboratively with families, healthcare professionals, and other agencies
35. Safeguard individuals and report any concerns in line with procedures
Skills & Experience
Essential:
36. A genuine passion for supporting people with learning disabilities and/or mental health needs
37. Ability to promote independence rather than create reliance
38. Good communication and listening skills
39. Calm, patient, and empathetic approach
40. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
41. Experience supporting individuals with learning disabilities and/or mental health conditions
42. Understanding of positive behaviour support (PBS)
43. Knowledge of safeguarding and person-centred care
44. Relevant qualification in Health & Social Care (Level 2 or 3)
