Job Title: Senior Exhibition Technician Salary: £28,500 - £33,000 FTE Location: Chilcomb House, Winchester Hours: 37 hours per week Type of Contract: Permanent Job Description: Senior Technician Are you passionate about leading the team who bring culture alive across Hampshire with their technical skills? Leading the team of Exhibition Technicians who provide specialist support in installing, maintaining and taking-down temporary exhibitions at our three flagship galleries as well as permanent displays across our museums. You will use your expertise and knowledge to lead a team of employed and freelance technicians to deliver against an exhibition plan supporting our exhibition and venue managers. Working across an ever-changing programme of temporary displays that include irreplaceable fine art, fascinating interactive displays and fragile museum objects. You will be a practically minded, hands-on Exhibition Technician to help support the delivery of a dynamic programme of arts and culture who can lead the workshop management and administrative elements. A bit about you You’ll have previous team leadership expertise and strong administrative skills to support in leading the technician team. You’re stakeholder management skills and project planning expertise allows you and the team to deliver effectively against an ambitious and defined exhibition plan. Your previous experience of exhibition installation, perhaps in a museum, gallery or similar work environment and expertise as a hands-on carpenter will allow you to manage our exhibitions and displays with care. You’ll enjoy flexing your practical problem-solving skills and be confident working with both hand and power tools as well as working at height if required. As a team-player you’ll enjoying working with the wider team towards common goals and deadlines. And you’ll take pride in seeing a good job well done! You must have access to a vehicle and be willing to travel across Hampshire (mileage will be paid) as HCT vehicles may not always be available.
