Join to apply for the Volunteer Trustees role at Sheffield General Cemetery Trust.
About the Role
Looking for Trustees to oversee research and interpretation, telling the stories of the landscape, with experience in ecology/biodiversity and raising funds through grant bids.
What Difference Will You Make?
As part of the Trustee team, you will support our strategic direction, contribute your expertise, and help ensure the smooth operation of the Trust. You will play a key role in safeguarding the future of this historic site and continue its story as a cherished green space in Sheffield.
Commitment to Diversity
We are committed to increasing diversity on our Board. We welcome applications from people from BAME backgrounds, those with disabilities, and encourage applicants aged 18-35 to promote youth representation.
What Are We Looking For?
Ideally, Trustees should have general organisational or business experience, with specific skills in research, interpretation, landscape ecology, biodiversity net gain, or fundraising via grants. Relevant experience in these areas is highly valued.
What Will You Be Doing?
The Sheffield General Cemetery is a historic 13-acre green space in Sheffield, featuring listed buildings, monuments, and natural reserves. Since its rescue in 2003 by the Sheffield General Cemetery Trust, it has been maintained and developed as a heritage, environmental, and educational resource. Trustees will help guide its ongoing preservation, development, and community engagement efforts.
