Part Time Finance & HR Executive – Godalming, Surrey
£28,080 (for 30 hours per week) plus benefits
We are recruiting for a highly impactful and inclusive charity looking for a Finance & HR Executive to join their team on a hybrid basis. This role is offered on reduced hours of 30 hours per week, with a salary of £28,080 based on 4 full days.
Key Finance Responsibilities
* Operate all aspects of the Sage 50 for Charities accounting package
* Manage debtors within agreed credit terms, including production of statements
* Process payments to suppliers within agreed credit terms as a bank signatory
* Weekly reconciliation of bank accounts
* Review and process monthly accruals and prepayments
* Produce monthly management accounts – P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow with comparison to budget, variance analysis, and commentary (with Finance trustee)
* Coordinate production of annual budget - P&L, balance sheet, and cash flow (with Finance trustee)
* Assist the CEO and trustees with annual updates of the 5-year plan
* Attend and contribute to management meetings
* Provide day-to-day financial and accounting advice to colleagues in the management team as required
* Produce year-end accounts and manage Independent Examiners (with Finance trustee)
* Process inputs to monthly payroll and process salary and expense payments to staff
* Produce monthly balance sheet account reconciliations
* Maintain fixed asset register
* Manage Finance Assistant and other direct reports
Key HR Responsibilities
* Provide support to the CEO and staff regarding HR concerns or issues
* Responsible for recruitment process (Advert to Contract) in conjunction with Line Manager/CEO
* Assist with volunteer recruitment & retention in collaboration with Inclusion Manager
* Process DBS & other recruitment checks
* Liaise with and provide information to payroll provider
* Manage appraisal processes, providing support/reminders for managers
* Advise on annual leave entitlement and maintain records in conjunction with line managers
* Liaise with external HR support as necessary
Knowledge and Qualifications
* Working knowledge of Sage 50 or similar small business accounting software – Essential
* Working knowledge of Excel and Word – Essential
* Ability to work independently with confidence to make accounting judgments – Essential
* Understanding of accounting in the Not-for-Profit sector – Desirable
* Basic knowledge of stock accounting software – Desirable
* Knowledge of HR processes & requirements – Essential
