Senior Manufacturing EngineerPitstoneSkills: DFM, Mechanical, Analytical, Problem solving, Root cause analysis, Effective communicator, Process improvement, Lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, Continuous improvementAs a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will act as the technical authority for a defined manufacturing domain or module.Safran - Here, we craft excellence together.At Safran, excellence is a journey - and we'd love you to be a part of it.As a trusted global leader in aerospace, defence, and space, we are proud to be a company where diversity, innovation, and opportunity come together to shape a sustainable future where we can all succeed together through a shared vision.We are looking for passionate individuals to join our Manufacturing Engineering & Industrialisation team at our growing site in Pitstone!About the roleYou will lead the design, implementation, optimisation, and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes-ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness, and compliance with industrial and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:- Provide expert-level technical guidance and act as the escalation point for complex manufacturing issues.- Oversee key manufacturing process documentation including Work Instructions, PFMEAs, control plans, routings, and layouts.- Lead industrialisation strategy for new and existing products to ensure long-term manufacturability.- Champion problem-solving maturity across the site, coaching teams in 8D, 5-Why and RCA methods.- Define manufacturing technology roadmaps, including automation, digitalisation, and advanced tooling.- Lead cross-functional teams on industrialisation, NPI and major change programmes.- Represent Manufacturing Engineering in audits, governance boards and customer/leadership reviews.- Drive continuous improvement initiatives that deliver measurable performance improvements.What You'll Bring- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or other related engineering field - Essential- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a regulated industry - Essential- Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and process simulation tools - Essential- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies- Essential- Ability to interpret engineering drawings - Essential- Experience deploying APQP standards and tools- Experience mentoring or developing engineersHere, we craft excellence together.At Safran, we understand that diversity and inclusion make teams stronger and more effective, and as an organisation, we are committed to fair and equitable employment practices for everyone and are proudly a Disability Confident EmployerWe also know that some candidates may be put off applying for jobs where they don't meet 100% of the criteria outlined in the advert, however, we encourage anybody to apply if you can demonstrate a variety of skills and experience relevant to the requirements of this roleWe will consider all applicants who meet the minimum essential requirements regardless of their identity or background.
