Live in or Live out Housekeeper Job near Port Isaac, North Cornwall
A new Greycoat Lumleys client is seeking an experienced, proactive, and detail-oriented Housekeeper for their private family home in North Cornwall, close to Port Isaac. This is a wonderful opportunity for a self-sufficient Housekeeper who enjoys working independently in a beautiful rural coastal setting. The household consists of parents and three children aged 5 to 11, along with three dogs. The successful candidate must therefore be both child-friendly and dog-friendly.
The family resides at the property for approximately four months of the year. When the family is abroad, the Housekeeper will be responsible for overseeing the main house and managing two additional cottages used for guest stays.
Duties to include:
1. Daily housekeeping duties to an exceptionally high standard
2. Full cleaning, upkeep, and presentation of all rooms
3. Managing holiday let changeovers, ensuring properties are immaculate and fully stocked
4. Laundry and ironing, including wardrobe organisation
5. Creating and maintaining a structured cleaning schedule
6. Feeding and caring for the family’s dogs
7. Grocery shopping, managing household supplies, and running errands
8. Preparing fires when required
9. Assisting with occasional hosting, including serving drinks and light refreshments
10. Providing hot drinks and basic breakfast or lunch on occasion
11. Proactively overseeing the property while the family is away, ensuring it always remains guest-ready
12. Reporting and monitoring maintenance or cleaning requirements
13. Maintaining complete discretion and confidentiality at all times
Candidate requirements:
14. Proven experience working within a private household or similar role
15. Proactive, highly organised, and able to work independently
16. Excellent attention to detail and strong time-management skills
17. Comfortable with dogs and basic pet care
18. Child-friendly with a warm and helpful manner
19. Flexible to assist with occasional evening or weekend duties
20. High standard of personal presentation
21. Driver’s licence preferred
