Band 6 Gastro Specialist Dietitian, Royal Liverpool University Hospital (UHLG).
Full‑time, permanent (37.5 hours).
We are looking for an enthusiastic dietitian to join our Gastro team. You will work alongside Band 7 dietitians and support junior staff, providing specialised care for our gastrointestinal inpatient and outpatient caseload.
Responsibilities
* Provide nutritional treatment to gastroenterology inpatients.
* Deliver outpatient clinics for IBS, IBD, Coeliac disease and liver transplant.
* Support the service in delivering dietetic services to gastroenterology patients within the hospital and outpatient clinics.
* Contribute to service improvement, training, audit and development of standards.
* Provide supervision and support to B5 and B4 dietetic assistant staff.
* Supervise student dietitians and collaborate with universities to enhance learning experience.
* Work closely with B7 dietitians, therapy management and the multi‑disciplinary team.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Excellent communication skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.
* Experience with patients having complex nutritional needs.
* Appropriate dietetic qualification and registration with the Health and Care Professions Council.
About the Department
The Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen Dietetic Department includes over 40 dietitians and assistants, with specialists in Nephrology, Diabetes, Nutrition Support, Upper GI, Surgery and Haematology.
The department offers a well‑established Practice Supervision programme for new graduates and is committed to training other Health Care Professionals and student dietitians.
Supportive supervision, regular appraisals and team meetings are provided throughout the trust.
The post holder will be fully supported by existing B7 dietitians and therapy management, with opportunities for professional development and learning across the trust.
