We are currently seeking an Apprentice Facilities & Estates Operative to join our team in Blackburn. This apprenticeship is tailored for those eager to provide exceptional facilities services support to both customers and FM departments. You will be assisting and supporting the successful delivery of a customer oriented and effective Cleaning & Waste Management Service. Responsibilities
* Work within different teams on all aspects of cleaning and waste management
* Carry out routine cleaning of all internal and external communal areas, ensuring these areas are left clean, safe and attractive for our customers; using a combination of hand tools, power tools and chemical agents when required
* When required assist in the removal of graffiti, fly tipped waste on the organisation\'s land
* Undertake a range of minor repairs to communal properties, gardens and the wider estate including planned deep cleaning. Ensure that access footpaths are kept free from hazards and/or obstructions
* Adaptability and flexibility, responsible for working in service areas across the team as required, cleaning, waste & house removals and general duties associated with estate management
* To promptly and effectively handle on-site customer inquiries while communicating clearly and efficiently at all levels
* Plans and organises workload to meet deadlines in line with the departmental service plans
Requirements
* GCSE Maths and English at grades 4-9 or A*-C
* A passion for exploring a diverse array of skills and building a fulfilling long-term career in environmental services
* A positive can-do mindset
* Strong literacy and numeracy skills for precise record-keeping
* Outstanding customer service abilities
Benefits
* Fixed-term contract lasting 18 months for the duration of the apprenticeship program
* Salary: During the first year of the apprenticeship, £7.55 per hour (£14,526.20 annual). This is regardless of age.
* Second year salary: Under 18, £7.55 per hour (£14,526.20); aged 18-20, £10 per hour (£19,240.00); aged over 21, £12.21 per hour (£23,492.04)
* Studying towards the Facilities Services Operative Level 2
* 27 days holiday (rising to 32 over 5 years of service) + bank holidays
