Head of Design / Buyer
Role Overview:
Supports the Womenswear and Menswear Design teams in producing technical drawings and excel workbooks for styles, through teamwork with the Women’s & Mens Designers and Garment Techs.
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Produce Mens & Womenswear technical workbooks for sending to the factories, including:
o Fully annotated technical drawings
o Diagrams of construction & techniques
o Print scaling and placements
o Meticulous in completing fabric and trim information
o Proto specs & Measuring Guides
* Amending styles and updating workbooks as required after fittings
* Working closely with Designers to develop the designs and the ranges
* Working closely with the Garment Tech team to problem solve finishings for styles demonstrating a depth of knowledge of construction for different types of styles in line with the Jaded identity and factory ability
* Ad hoc flexible support for the design teams to help find solutions for final designs
* Contribute to keeping the Tech Design Ai libraries and Trim Worksheets up to date
* Being responsive and positive to feedback, proactive in creating strong cross divisional relationships and striving for seeking efficient solutions
Requirements:
* Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop & Excel and Microsoft office
* Strong knowledge and understanding of garment construction
* Ability to prioritise, managing multiple deadlines and heavy workloads to strict deadlines
* Confidence and ability to work at pace
* A problem solver, identifying issues immediately
* Trend-focused with an eye for detail
* Capable of working autonomously and making strong creative decisions.
* Flexible working approach, diligent and able to adapt to the needs of the team
* Great understanding of the Jaded London brand and customer
* Strong Team player and passionate for the brand and its success.
