Where we need you:
As our Commercial Business Controller – UK, you will play a pivotal role in driving both financial performance and robust controls. Acting as a business partner to commercial teams, you’ll deliver insight across pricing, promotions, forecasting, and trade spend optimisation.
With a strong focus on promotional effectiveness, revenue growth management (RGM), and planning, you’ll support key decision-making across brands and channels while ensuring robust financial governance and alignment with corporate standards.
Your core responsibilities at a glance:
Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
1. Supporting the budgeting, forecasting, and quarterly LE processes of the full P&L, ensuring robust assumptions, financial integrity, and clear communication of risks and opportunities.
2. Deliver accurate and timely commercial close and management reporting.
3. Manage monthly forecasting, including identification and reporting of Risks and Opportunities
Trade Spend Management
4. Be the UK super-user for the trade spend management tool
5. Lead on all continuous improvement activity, to ensure the tools use is optimised
6. Take responsibility for the ongoing training and support of colleagues across the UK business
7. Represent the UK on internal forums, and work in collaboration with external providers
Brand & Channel Finance Business Partnering
8. Partner with commercial teams to deliver actionable insights and performance improvement
9. Support and enhance RGM, PPA, CPI, Channel, and Product Mix performance, driving improved efficiency
10. Develop and evaluate promotional strategies by brand and channel, supporting pre- and post-evaluation processes
11. Drive trade spend efficiencies and optimisation through improved ROI, analytics, and control
Forecasting & S&OP
12. Support the improvement of forecast accuracy through the implementation and continuous enhancement of a new S&OP process
13. Contribute to the stabilisation and predictability of demand forecasts, supporting weekly, short-, and mid-term outlooks
14. Support ongoing improvements to forecasting processes, systems, and accountability within the commercial organization
The ideal recipe for our new Commercial Business Controller:
15. Proven experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, or Controlling, ideally within FMCG
16. Strong expertise in forecasting, budgeting, and commercial performance management
17. Demonstrated experience in promotions, trade spend, pricing, and RGM
18. Strategic, analytical mindset with the ability to turn data into clear commercial recommendations
19. Advanced skills in SAP and Excel; BI tools experience is a plus
20. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
21. Understanding of S&OP and demand planning processes
22. Proactive, inquisitive, organised, solutions-focused, and comfortable managing multiple priorities
23. Finance qualification preferred (CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
