Overview
This role is pivotal in ensuring that The Childrens Trust is considered the provider of choice to support children with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Neurodisability across the UK and internationally. The post-holder leads on all business development and services-marketing activities to drive and increase brand awareness, identify and develop new opportunities, and cultivate relationships and partnerships to increase referrals and achieve income budget across all services offered by The Childrens Trust. A cross-organisational team, led by the post-holder, will promote the services of The Childrens Trust to external stakeholders to increase brand awareness and referrals across all services, strengthen The Childrens Trust position as the go-to provider, and influence stakeholders across education, health and social care.
This role includes leading on the creation and implementation of our Business Development Strategy (including the ICB engagement plan), strategic leadership and hands-on management of the organisation\'s account-based marketing strategy (key accounts/referrers/funders), and multi-channel services marketing campaigns to support core income streams and to implement a single organisational view of our core child-centred business arrangements.
Responsibilities
* Strategic Business Development and Services Marketing: in collaboration with the Medical Director, Head of Business Development & Commissioning, and the Business Development & External Affairs Advisors, contribute to the development and implementation of a business development strategy to optimise referral-generating activity across all services (existing and new).
* Account-based marketing: oversee the development, cultivation and stewardship of relationships to support referral pipelines across all services, including NHS referrers and funders, local authorities, and private providers/funders.
* Services marketing: oversee creation, implementation and review of multi-channel marketing activity to reach professionals and parents/families; oversee events programme (hosted events, webinars, site visits, tours, open days, conferences, etc.), manage event logistics, and supervise the Business Development Marketing Officer.
* External representation: represent The Childrens Trust externally at events and meetings to maximise opportunities and ensure strategic alignment; evaluate attendance for return on investment and consider co-production of external conferences where appropriate.
* Business case development: work with relevant Directors to develop robust business cases for new service development and oversee effective roll-out across the organisation.
* Market intelligence: monitor and analyse demand, competitors, and commissioning landscapes to identify opportunities and risks; align work with external developments and support campaigns that strengthen reach.
* Campaigns and governance: collaborate with the Head of Communications & Marketing to create and implement services marketing multi-channel campaigns; oversee commissioning of marketing briefs to support referral activity and ROI demonstration.
* Materials and compliance: own portfolio of services-related marketing materials (web, digital, print); stay abreast of GDPR guidance to ensure compliant activity.
* Budget and planning: set and monitor the Business Development budget, reconcile transactions, and support income forecasts with mitigation plans as needed.
* Leadership and people management: lead on business development and services marketing across all services, motivate and develop staff, and maintain alignment with The Childrens Trust policies and values.
* Collaboration and governance: work with cross-functional teams to maximise opportunities, communicate strategies, and ensure staff development and performance reviews.

For note, this role is limited to promotion and marketing of The Childrens Trust services. Fundraising and other marketing activities are outside the scope of this role and sit within the central marketing and communications team.
