Kensington Mortgages is looking for an experienced Servicing Team Manager to lead our Payments Management Team on a 9‑month secondment. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a critical leadership role within a high‑impact operational area of the business.
🔍 About the Role
Our Payments Management Team plays a vital role in ensuring customer payments — including cheques, bank transfers, DWP payments and third‑party invoices — are accurately allocated to mortgage accounts. The team also manages payment queries, redemptions, account closures and complex transaction investigations.
As Team Manager, you’ll be central to driving accuracy, quality, and great customer outcomes, while supporting a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
✅ What You’ll Be Doing
* Lead and manage the team to deliver work in line with SLAs and business objectives
* Drive consistent, high‑quality service against KPIs
* Actively manage individual and team performance, including absence management, 1:1s, reviews and feedback
* Coach, train and develop team members, supporting succession planning
* Promote engagement, motivation and high performance through strong leadership
* Manage client relationships and participate in operational review meetings
* Identify and resolve risk incidents, ensuring effective risk controls are in place
* Review and improve policies and processes to increase efficiency and mitigate risk
* Role model Kensington’s values at all times
🧠What We’re Looking For
* Strong underwriting background with good knowledge of Residential and Buy to Let processes
* Proven people management, coaching and development experience
* Confident decision‑maker with a strong risk and quality mindset
* Experience handling customer or broker escalations and complaints
* Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret MI and manage KPIs
* Knowledge of regulatory and financial crime requirements
* Experience working in a target‑driven, customer‑focused environment
* Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* CeMAP / CeRCC preferred (or willingness to study)
* Resilient, well‑organised and able to balance customer needs with operational priorities
